Easy tricks to teach your cockatiel
August 23rd, 2009 by admin

Hello animal lovers,

I know how to teach my cockatiel how to talk. She is speaking good. I want her to speak more and more words (just to make other wonder at work, and in turn wonder at my hard work). It is indeed a great thing to see some bird talk as if she knows everything.

There is no doubt that she repeats whatever we say, but still when she says them in random order, then that would be more fun. There are animal lovers, especially gorilla lovers, who teach them how to do things as they order. More in numbers are the dog lovers, they just have a stick in their hand and order their dogs, which does them with more enthusiasm.

What are some easy tricks to teach my pet cockatiel?

How do i teach the tricks to her? Thanks!

cockies mimic sounds like whistle’s. First it must be a miale they are the most cherppest of the two the femiale only peeps but the maile sound’s off loud an clear. And is the one you can trian buy whislin or constant repeatting the words over an over the male should start repeatting you with the pitch of how you say the words you want him too mimic buy whislin or cherp’s. the longer you work with him the faster he’ll come around if he is hand feed or rasied even quicker note their must be no other noise in the area your traning or he wont get it try a bathroom bedroom any room which is quite he’ll come around no time good luck!!

shake, wave, flap, turn, flip, laydown.

shake-poke your birds feet on the side to make his/her feet on your finger. then click the clicker and give him/her a treat!(repeat the step)

wave-(easier to train after you train him/her to shake) when you put your finger near him/her feet (act like your trying to let him shake) he’ll/she’ll try to put it on your finger so when it does it lift up his/her feet and try to settle it down on your finger.right when he/she lifts it up, you take the finger away and click the clicker. give him/her a treat!

turn- when you put your finger near his/her tail, they dont like it when you touch or go near it so they will turn around and then click your clicker and give him/her a treat!

whistle- whistle everyday and soon it’ll learn and copy you
