Tricks to make a small bathroom look bigger
August 24th, 2009 by admin

Hello men,

Not everyone could have huge house at US. I accept generously that I dont have any huge house, and that I have come here to ask another “trick”. I know you guys will help me out. The problem is that my relatives or even friends, come to my home, they always criticize my bathroom, which really hurts me a lot.

There could be something like using a white tiles in your bathroom would make it look bigger or something like that. But I dont know what exactly to do. I am thinking of redecorating my smallest bathroom. I need to know if there are any “tricks” to make it seem bigger.

Just letting all of you know that I am not the one giving thumbs down!

mirror tiles. mirrors always make the bathroom look bigger. adding more light or even a window also helps.

the best one i can think of is to place mirrors on at least one wall….gives the appearance of bigger room

colors might have alot to do with it too

a lot of mirrors (the mirror would not be over the just the sink, over the entire wall)

and bright, light colors (use a bright white for the walls, not an off white…but that is a pain to clean)

forget about the toilet, wasted space, when someone asks, just tell them they are crazy

You’ll undoubtedly have to make some compromises in your decorating, get really organized, and make some adjustments to your lifestyle in order to make everything fit and not feel cramped.

The ceiling has to be a lighter colour than e floor.
Try bringing in natural lighting as well

Using of mirrors to create a illusion.

Try to have items with double functions and easy to put away

You may want to consider a pedestal sink if you currently have a vanity. Also a recessed medicine cabinet or simply a mirror. If you are retiling the floor use large 12×12 tiles.Don’t use wallpaper.Light colored paint and maybe a slightly different shade for one wall as an accent.

You can’t go wrong with a mirrored ceiling.

Proper trimming of the curly hairs around the base can make your…oh wait, you said “bathroom”.

Light colors and fixtures that are below eye level. Having stuff up around eye level (towel racks, light fixture, etc.) gives a cluttered appearance, while keeping anything that sticks out at around the same level or lower as your sink makes the room feel open.

I installed a working toilet in my living room last year. I suppose you could now refer to it as the bathroom…

Is your current bathroom color dark? If so, I’d definitely lighten it up. Make sure to have a white ceiling and light colored walls, it makes any room seem bigger. Mirrors will also help to make it seem bigger, but honestly I think it would look horrible to put mirrored tiles all over the place. Just make sure to modestly decorate it, if there is too much clutter in there it is going to seem alot smaller.

Good luck and I hope this helps!
